HomeAid Distributes Hygiene CareKits to Partner Family Promise of St. Tammany

Delivery of 100 HomeAid CareKits to Family Promise

Community outreach activity kicks-off month-long campaign to raise awareness and fight homelessness

HomeAid America, a nonprofit organization and one of the nation’s largest builders of housing for the homeless, visited the New Orleans area and donated CareKits to Family Promise of St. Tammany. The community outreach activity kicked off HomeAid’s Homelessness Awareness Month, an annual campaign held every November to increase awareness about the issues of homelessness.

HomeAid America’s mission is to rebuild lives for America’s homeless through housing and community outreach. HomeAid identifies charities working to end homelessness and collaborates with the building industry to provide additional or upgraded facilities in which to house people. HomeAid’s community outreach efforts help to off-set everyday living expenses by providing basic necessities such as clothing, food and hygiene items to those in need.

We are so pleased to be able to help out a great charity like Family Promise as they help those in need in the New Orleans area. Family Promise and HomeAid have partnered in numerous locations across the country, usually in the form of housing development projects, and they always put our contributions to productive use in helping those facing homelessness in those communities.

Family Promise of St. Tammany accepted 100 HomeAid CareKits on October 29th that they will be able to gift to the families they serve. CareKits are backpacks stuffed with the essential hygiene items needed to provide dignity, hope and a fresh, clean start for someone experiencing homelessness. Each kit includes shampoo, conditioner, soap, a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, razor, shaving cream, wet wipes, tissues, feminine products, a comb, hand sanitizer and socks.

“We are so pleased to be able to help out a great charity like Family Promise as they help those in need in the New Orleans area,” said Peter Simons, CEO of HomeAid America. “Family Promise and HomeAid have partnered in numerous locations across the country, usually in the form of housing development projects, and they always put our contributions to productive use in helping those facing homelessness in those communities.”

Family Promise’s mission is to help homeless and low-income families achieve sustainable independence. Through a national partnership, HomeAid and Family Promise have been partnering across the nation for the past four years to provide food, shelter and support services for homeless families.
