HomeAid Launches 19th chapter in Utah to build housing for homeless Americans
SALT LAKE CITY, December 12, 2018 (Newswire.com) - It is estimated that nearly 3,000 people experience homelessness on any given night across Utah, according to the Department of Housing and Urban Development. HomeAid America, a national nonprofit provider of housing for the homelessness, is stepping up to address this tragic situation. HomeAid has established its 19th chapter in the nation in partnership with the Salt Lake Home Builders Association. HomeAid Utah will work with the local home building industry to develop, build and maintain housing for nonprofits serving those experiencing homelessness.

HomeAid identifies charities working to help homeless families and individuals that are in need of additional or upgraded facilities in which to house people while they offer needed programmatic resources, such as job and life skills training, financial counseling, and physical and emotional support. HomeAid’s builder captains and their trade partners take on these projects, completing them at a deep discount through the in-kind donation of their time and materials.

Bringing HomeAid’s homeless housing development and community outreach programs to Utah was made possible by a grant from HomeAid America and donations from the local industry. Academy Mortgage and Woodside Homes, both major national building industry companies and HomeAid America partners who are based in Utah, made substantial investments in the organization to get the chapter launched.
As part of HomeAid's national network of chapters, HomeAid Utah will have the resources needed to obtain donated building products for its charity projects. It will also have access to national grants and publicity, a deep network of chapter resources, and a myriad of other benefits.
