Westwood Insurance Agency Joins HomeAid America in Effort to End Homelessness

National partnership will support Homeless Housing Development & Community Outreach Programs

Westwood Insurance Agency, a leading national personal lines insurance provider will join HomeAid America as a Bronze Level National Partner. Dedicated to assisting individuals and families in time of need, Westwood Insurance Agency will contribute $10,000 to support HomeAid in the fight against homelessness across the country.

"Westwood Insurance is the leader in the new home insurance market who already works with many of HomeAid's builders; they will be a great fit for us," said Peter Simons, CEO of HomeAid America. "We are very grateful for their support and glad to have them join us in our fight to end homelessness."

HomeAid, a building industry charity and one of the nation's largest builders of housing for the homeless, will use the funding to rebuild lives for America's homeless through their housing development and community outreach programs, as well as chapter expansion efforts.

Support from Westwood comes at a pivotal time as HomeAid enters into its 30th anniversary and celebrates the success of completing over 550 projects that have housed 327,000 people who would have otherwise been homeless. Through the HomeAid model, more than $230 million of housing has been developed with a cost savings of over $120 million, thanks to the generosity of the building industry.

"We appreciate the tremendous contributions HomeAid America has made towards ending homelessness in the US and recognize that Westwood also has an invaluable opportunity to make a difference," said Alan Umaly, President of Westwood Insurance Agency. "We share the same philosophy of giving back and are delighted to partner with HomeAid in making a positive impact in the communities we serve."

HomeAid's program identifies charities working to help the homeless that are in need of additional facilities in which to house people. HomeAid's builder captains and their partners and suppliers take on these projects, completing them at a deep discount through the in-kind donation of their time and materials. These cost-savings are reinvesting into life-changing programs such as job and life skills training, financial counseling, and physical and emotional support needed to get back on their feet.
